Welcome Pack
A comprehensive information pack for the house and your stay is located in the drawers underneath the TV.
Kitchen
The fridge and freezer will be ready for you to fill. There is a kettle, a tea pot, a stove-top espresso maker, cafetiere and drip filter for coffee making. The cooker and hob are electric. Pots, pans and baking trays are all in the kitchen for you, along with all the crockery, cutlery and glassware you will need. Cleaning products and washing up liquid are also provided.
Parking
Full 'arriving by car' details are available here to ensure a stress-free journey.
We use the secure Centre Historique underground car park. This is only a few minutes walk from the house through the Jardin Anglais and is essential for those arriving at Dinan House by car.
Provisions
A bottle of wine will be waiting for you on arrival, as a welcoming start to your holiday. For more sustaining provisions we suggest a stop en-route at a supermarché or a quick visit to the Monoprix around the corner. The top drawer in the kitchen usually has some provisions in it but tea/coffee/milk will need to be purchased.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
We provide all bedlinens and towels for your stay. There will be loo roll for you on arrival, and there is liquid hand soap by every sink. You will need to bring your own shampoo and shower/bath gels.
TV and HiFi
On the floor, under the right-hand cupboard of the sideboard, turn on the power to the white multi-plug.

We have recently installed a TV streaming system that enables a vast range of live TV channels including two weeks of previous transmissions. Also radio programmes, movies and music. Please take the time to follow the instructions in the house manual in order to operate the system.

We have a selection of CDs and DVDs in the sideboard. If you have the Google Home app you can also connect to the small Google speaker on the black shelf in the living room.
Wifi
There is high speed WiFi throughout the house.

The router (Livebox) is on the desk on the mezzanine floor. If it isn’t on, turn on the multiplug underneath the desk.

Children
The top floor room offers an exciting accommodation for children but the stairs up to it are narrow and steep, and it is quite far away from the ground floor bedroom. Please bear this in mind if you are thinking of booking as a family.

We don’t currently provide baby equipment, as the house is best suited to adults or couples.
Keys
Two sets of keys mean so you don't always have to stick together! Please ensure the spare key is returned to the hook when you vacate the house.

To lock the front door you need to lift the handle and hold it in place firmly while you turn the key. We generally lock it from the inside when we are in the house and we leave the key on the hook behind the door.
Accessibility
Dinan House is 19th Century and laid out over three floors. The main staircase is open tread, and some of the transition spaces are quite narrow. The house is therefore regretfully not ideal for wheelchair users or anyone who cannot safely manage stairs.
Heating / Air Conditioning
The house is heated by electric radiators which will be off in summer and on for winter guests. There is no air conditioning and we have never found it necessary in this old stone building. The hot water operates on gas and will be turned on ready for you. Instructions for operating this if you need a boost can be found in the house manual on arrival.
Outdoor Space
The house's location in the public gardens give you access to a beautiful view and the benches there make a lovely setting for an evening aperitif but the house has no private outdoor space.
Laundry
There is no washing machine at Dinan House but should you need a laundrette we use Dinan Pressing who offer a full service, and for pedestrians, Wash'n Dry is located just 5 minutes walk away from the house.
Departure Procedure
We have created a helpful checklist to use when you are leaving Dinan House. Please click here to view.
What To Bring
We recommend bringing personal toiletries, any specialty cooking items you may need, and chargers for your devices. UK plug adapters can be found in each room. Please ensure these are not removed.
Damages
We know that you will take care of the house while you are resident, but accidents do happen. If you damage anything during your stay please let us know. We ask that you kindly do not replace any broken crockery or glasses as we prefer to maintain matching sets.
